Catharine Kent Gallery

A twenty-year resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Catharine Kent’s splendidly colorful paintings celebrate the richness so prevalent in the New Mexican landscape and culture. Born in Davenport, Washington, Catharine moved to Albuquerque  after retiring from her career as a teacher with the Detroit Public School System. There she began her love affair with the colors of life in New Mexico as a member of the painting  group of Albuquerque’s American Association of University Women. She nurtured her respect for the land and its traditions through studies of Indian culture and her long-standing friendships with the members of the Santa Domingo Pueblo.
